Stage en verblijf in Zuid-Afrika
Omschrijving:
Wij wilden deze stage doen omdat het ons aanspreekt dat je in een andere cultuur op een andere manier werkt in een samenleving die anders is dan de onze in Nederland.
Voorbeelden daarvan zijn bijvoorbeeld armoede, racisme, aids problematiek waarvan wij denken dat Afrika hier op een andere manier mee omgaat dan hier in het Westen mee wordt omgegaan. Wij willen graag vanuit een christelijk oogpunt ons blikveld verruimen en een nieuwe levenservaring opdoen.
De verschillen tussen onze westerse cultuur en de cultuur in Afrika zijn enorm. In Afrika heeft geld een hele andere waarde dan bij ons en ditzelfde geldt voor tijd. Ook zijn mensen in Afrika veel sneller tevreden en blij met kleine dingen als je dit vergelijkt met onze cultuur. Wij in onze westerse wereld zijn eigenlijk verschrikkelijk verwend met de vele keuzes die we kunnen maken en dit beseffen we ons soms niet/amper.
De mensen daar hebben een veel minder gehaast leven, staan erom bekend vriendelijk en gastvrij te zijn en overal de tijd voor te nemen. Daarbij vullen zij hun tijd anders in vanwege de andere tradities en dergelijke.
De uitdaging voor ons hierin is om de grote confronterende verschillen tussen arm en rijk niet vanuit onze westerse bril te bekijken maar om zoveel mogelijk de Afrikaanse cultuur te beleven zoals zij het beleven. Om een voorbeeld te geven: Als wij zien aan iemand dat hij/zij uit een arm mileu komt en hij wilt ons iets geven dan zouden wij dit vanuit onze westerse bril misschien afwijzen omdat hij in onze ogen niks kan missen. Toch zullen wij dit op dat moment moeten aannemen om de gever niet te beledigen.
Onze projecten:
Project 1:
In het activiteitencentrum naast het lokale ziekenhuis, komen vrouwen die een gebrek hebben aan zelfvertrouwen en/of life skills. Aan ons de taak om hen dit weer een beetje terug te geven. Door met de vrouwen in gesprek te gaan, of bijvoorbeeld sieraden te maken die zij weer door kunnen verkopen, zodat zij wat meer zelfstandig worden en meer zelfvertrouwen krijgen.
Project 2:
Even verderop is een vrouw die een grote groep arm-blanken opvangt. Ook de kinderen worden hier opgevangen. De vrouw die hen opvangt, heeft simpelweg geen tijd om genoeg aandacht aan de kinderen te schenken en hen te helpen met hun huiswerk. Een Nederlandse vrouw heeft hier een naschoolse opvang-project opgezet. De kinderen komen terug van school, maken hun huiswerk en mogen daarna een eigen activiteit gaan doen. Aan ons de taak de kinderen te helpen en ondersteunen waar dit nodig is.

Stage en verblijf in Zuid-Afrika
Omschrijving:
Wij wilden deze stage doen omdat het ons aanspreekt dat je in een andere cultuur op een andere manier werkt in een samenleving die anders is dan de onze in Nederland.
Voorbeelden daarvan zijn bijvoorbeeld armoede, racisme, aids problematiek waarvan wij denken dat Afrika hier op een andere manier mee omgaat dan hier in het Westen mee wordt omgegaan. Wij willen graag vanuit een christelijk oogpunt ons blikveld verruimen en een nieuwe levenservaring opdoen.
De verschillen tussen onze westerse cultuur en de cultuur in Afrika zijn enorm. In Afrika heeft geld een hele andere waarde dan bij ons en ditzelfde geldt voor tijd. Ook zijn mensen in Afrika veel sneller tevreden en blij met kleine dingen als je dit vergelijkt met onze cultuur. Wij in onze westerse wereld zijn eigenlijk verschrikkelijk verwend met de vele keuzes die we kunnen maken en dit beseffen we ons soms niet/amper.
De mensen daar hebben een veel minder gehaast leven, staan erom bekend vriendelijk en gastvrij te zijn en overal de tijd voor te nemen. Daarbij vullen zij hun tijd anders in vanwege de andere tradities en dergelijke.
De uitdaging voor ons hierin is om de grote confronterende verschillen tussen arm en rijk niet vanuit onze westerse bril te bekijken maar om zoveel mogelijk de Afrikaanse cultuur te beleven zoals zij het beleven. Om een voorbeeld te geven: Als wij zien aan iemand dat hij/zij uit een arm mileu komt en hij wilt ons iets geven dan zouden wij dit vanuit onze westerse bril misschien afwijzen omdat hij in onze ogen niks kan missen. Toch zullen wij dit op dat moment moeten aannemen om de gever niet te beledigen.
Onze projecten:
Project 1:
In het activiteitencentrum naast het lokale ziekenhuis, komen vrouwen die een gebrek hebben aan zelfvertrouwen en/of life skills. Aan ons de taak om hen dit weer een beetje terug te geven. Door met de vrouwen in gesprek te gaan, of bijvoorbeeld sieraden te maken die zij weer door kunnen verkopen, zodat zij wat meer zelfstandig worden en meer zelfvertrouwen krijgen.
Project 2:
Even verderop is een vrouw die een grote groep arm-blanken opvangt. Ook de kinderen worden hier opgevangen. De vrouw die hen opvangt, heeft simpelweg geen tijd om genoeg aandacht aan de kinderen te schenken en hen te helpen met hun huiswerk. Een Nederlandse vrouw heeft hier een naschoolse opvang-project opgezet. De kinderen komen terug van school, maken hun huiswerk en mogen daarna een eigen activiteit gaan doen. Aan ons de taak de kinderen te helpen en ondersteunen waar dit nodig is.

Stage en verblijf in Zuid-Afrika
Omschrijving:
Wij wilden deze stage doen omdat het ons aanspreekt dat je in een andere cultuur op een andere manier werkt in een samenleving die anders is dan de onze in Nederland.
Voorbeelden daarvan zijn bijvoorbeeld armoede, racisme, aids problematiek waarvan wij denken dat Afrika hier op een andere manier mee omgaat dan hier in het Westen mee wordt omgegaan. Wij willen graag vanuit een christelijk oogpunt ons blikveld verruimen en een nieuwe levenservaring opdoen.
De verschillen tussen onze westerse cultuur en de cultuur in Afrika zijn enorm. In Afrika heeft geld een hele andere waarde dan bij ons en ditzelfde geldt voor tijd. Ook zijn mensen in Afrika veel sneller tevreden en blij met kleine dingen als je dit vergelijkt met onze cultuur. Wij in onze westerse wereld zijn eigenlijk verschrikkelijk verwend met de vele keuzes die we kunnen maken en dit beseffen we ons soms niet/amper.
De mensen daar hebben een veel minder gehaast leven, staan erom bekend vriendelijk en gastvrij te zijn en overal de tijd voor te nemen. Daarbij vullen zij hun tijd anders in vanwege de andere tradities en dergelijke.
De uitdaging voor ons hierin is om de grote confronterende verschillen tussen arm en rijk niet vanuit onze westerse bril te bekijken maar om zoveel mogelijk de Afrikaanse cultuur te beleven zoals zij het beleven. Om een voorbeeld te geven: Als wij zien aan iemand dat hij/zij uit een arm mileu komt en hij wilt ons iets geven dan zouden wij dit vanuit onze westerse bril misschien afwijzen omdat hij in onze ogen niks kan missen. Toch zullen wij dit op dat moment moeten aannemen om de gever niet te beledigen.
Onze projecten:
Project 1:
In het activiteitencentrum naast het lokale ziekenhuis, komen vrouwen die een gebrek hebben aan zelfvertrouwen en/of life skills. Aan ons de taak om hen dit weer een beetje terug te geven. Door met de vrouwen in gesprek te gaan, of bijvoorbeeld sieraden te maken die zij weer door kunnen verkopen, zodat zij wat meer zelfstandig worden en meer zelfvertrouwen krijgen.
Project 2:
Even verderop is een vrouw die een grote groep arm-blanken opvangt. Ook de kinderen worden hier opgevangen. De vrouw die hen opvangt, heeft simpelweg geen tijd om genoeg aandacht aan de kinderen te schenken en hen te helpen met hun huiswerk. Een Nederlandse vrouw heeft hier een naschoolse opvang-project opgezet. De kinderen komen terug van school, maken hun huiswerk en mogen daarna een eigen activiteit gaan doen. Aan ons de taak de kinderen te helpen en ondersteunen waar dit nodig is.

Stage en verblijf in Zuid-Afrika
Omschrijving:
Wij wilden deze stage doen omdat het ons aanspreekt dat je in een andere cultuur op een andere manier werkt in een samenleving die anders is dan de onze in Nederland.
Voorbeelden daarvan zijn bijvoorbeeld armoede, racisme, aids problematiek waarvan wij denken dat Afrika hier op een andere manier mee omgaat dan hier in het Westen mee wordt omgegaan. Wij willen graag vanuit een christelijk oogpunt ons blikveld verruimen en een nieuwe levenservaring opdoen.
De verschillen tussen onze westerse cultuur en de cultuur in Afrika zijn enorm. In Afrika heeft geld een hele andere waarde dan bij ons en ditzelfde geldt voor tijd. Ook zijn mensen in Afrika veel sneller tevreden en blij met kleine dingen als je dit vergelijkt met onze cultuur. Wij in onze westerse wereld zijn eigenlijk verschrikkelijk verwend met de vele keuzes die we kunnen maken en dit beseffen we ons soms niet/amper.
De mensen daar hebben een veel minder gehaast leven, staan erom bekend vriendelijk en gastvrij te zijn en overal de tijd voor te nemen. Daarbij vullen zij hun tijd anders in vanwege de andere tradities en dergelijke.
De uitdaging voor ons hierin is om de grote confronterende verschillen tussen arm en rijk niet vanuit onze westerse bril te bekijken maar om zoveel mogelijk de Afrikaanse cultuur te beleven zoals zij het beleven. Om een voorbeeld te geven: Als wij zien aan iemand dat hij/zij uit een arm mileu komt en hij wilt ons iets geven dan zouden wij dit vanuit onze westerse bril misschien afwijzen omdat hij in onze ogen niks kan missen. Toch zullen wij dit op dat moment moeten aannemen om de gever niet te beledigen.
Onze projecten:
Project 1:
In het activiteitencentrum naast het lokale ziekenhuis, komen vrouwen die een gebrek hebben aan zelfvertrouwen en/of life skills. Aan ons de taak om hen dit weer een beetje terug te geven. Door met de vrouwen in gesprek te gaan, of bijvoorbeeld sieraden te maken die zij weer door kunnen verkopen, zodat zij wat meer zelfstandig worden en meer zelfvertrouwen krijgen.
Project 2:
Even verderop is een vrouw die een grote groep arm-blanken opvangt. Ook de kinderen worden hier opgevangen. De vrouw die hen opvangt, heeft simpelweg geen tijd om genoeg aandacht aan de kinderen te schenken en hen te helpen met hun huiswerk. Een Nederlandse vrouw heeft hier een naschoolse opvang-project opgezet. De kinderen komen terug van school, maken hun huiswerk en mogen daarna een eigen activiteit gaan doen. Aan ons de taak de kinderen te helpen en ondersteunen waar dit nodig is.

[description] => Wij wilden deze stage doen omdat het ons aanspreekt dat je in een andere cultuur op een andere manier werkt in een samenleving die anders is dan de onze in Nederland.
Voorbeelden daarvan zijn bijvoorbeeld armoede, racisme, aids problematiek waarvan wij denken dat Afrika hier op een andere manier mee omgaat dan hier in het Westen mee wordt omgegaan. Wij willen graag vanuit een christelijk oogpunt ons blikveld verruimen en een nieuwe levenservaring opdoen.
De verschillen tussen onze westerse cultuur en de cultuur in Afrika zijn enorm. In Afrika heeft geld een hele andere waarde dan bij ons en ditzelfde geldt voor tijd. Ook zijn mensen in Afrika veel sneller tevreden en blij met kleine dingen als je dit vergelijkt met onze cultuur. Wij in onze westerse wereld zijn eigenlijk verschrikkelijk verwend met de vele keuzes die we kunnen maken en dit beseffen we ons soms niet/amper.
De mensen daar hebben een veel minder gehaast leven, staan erom bekend vriendelijk en gastvrij te zijn en overal de tijd voor te nemen. Daarbij vullen zij hun tijd anders in vanwege de andere tradities en dergelijke.
De uitdaging voor ons hierin is om de grote confronterende verschillen tussen arm en rijk niet vanuit onze westerse bril te bekijken maar om zoveel mogelijk de Afrikaanse cultuur te beleven zoals zij het beleven. Om een voorbeeld te geven: Als wij zien aan iemand dat hij/zij uit een arm mileu komt en hij wilt ons iets geven dan zouden wij dit vanuit onze westerse bril misschien afwijzen omdat hij in onze ogen niks kan missen. Toch zullen wij dit op dat moment moeten aannemen om de gever niet te beledigen.
Onze projecten:
Project 1:
In het activiteitencentrum naast het lokale ziekenhuis, komen vrouwen die een gebrek hebben aan zelfvertrouwen en/of life skills. Aan ons de taak om hen dit weer een beetje terug te geven. Door met de vrouwen in gesprek te gaan, of bijvoorbeeld sieraden te maken die zij weer door kunnen verkopen, zodat zij wat meer zelfstandig worden en meer zelfvertrouwen krijgen.
Project 2:
Even verderop is een vrouw die een grote groep arm-blanken opvangt. Ook de kinderen worden hier opgevangen. De vrouw die hen opvangt, heeft simpelweg geen tijd om genoeg aandacht aan de kinderen te schenken en hen te helpen met hun huiswerk. Een Nederlandse vrouw heeft hier een naschoolse opvang-project opgezet. De kinderen komen terug van school, maken hun huiswerk en mogen daarna een eigen activiteit gaan doen. Aan ons de taak de kinderen te helpen en ondersteunen waar dit nodig is.
